Abstract
The objective of this literature review was to investigate the findings of articles on the development of verbal communication in 4-year-old children in early childhood education between 2015 and 2024. The review was conducted using a qualitative approach, involving the analysis of 20 documents. It focused on two main themes: teaching strategies for the development of verbal communication and the results obtained following their implementation. In this vein, various strategies were identified particularly those involving storytelling, dramatization, games, songs, role-playing, poetry, and free play which yielded significant improvements in pronunciation, fluency, sentence formation and construction, as well as in confidence when speaking in public. It was concluded that the inclusion of strategies involving play, interaction, and creativity is essential for developing verbal communication in early childhood.
