Abstract

The present study aimed to determine the relationship between socialization and oral expression in 4-year-old children from the Initial Educational Institution No. 177 in the district of Jepelacio. The research followed a quantitative approach, with a basic type, nonexperimental and correlational design. The population and sample consisted of 25 children, to whom structured instruments were applied to assess levels of socialization and oral expression. Descriptive results showed that most children were located at high and very high levels in both variables. Regarding socialization, 56% of the children reached the very high level and 32% the high level, while in oral expression 48% were at the very high level and 32% at the high level. No cases were found at the low level in either variable. The normality test indicated that the data did not follow a normal distribution, which justified the use of nonparametric statistical procedures. Correlation analysis revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship of moderate magnitude between socialization and oral expression (r = 0.477). This result was confirmed through the t-test for significance (tc = 2.60 > tt = 2.069), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the research hypothesis. These findings indicate that higher levels of socialization are associated with better development of oral expression in early childhood.
